Drama, Short Films, Independent, PG-13, 21-Apr-2022
Despite numerous attempts to end his own life, he decides to attend a group counseling session in the hopes of finding some glimmer of hope. However, when his partner fails to show up, he feels more alone and hopeless than ever before. The film takes viewers on a journey through the intense emotions of a person battling suicidal thoughts and the challenges of finding reasons to keep going. Through Cory's story, the film also highlights the importance of appreciating the beauty of life and not taking it for granted. The film's director, Emmanuel Simms, initially intended to teach the grounding technique through the film, but the story evolved into a poignant exploration of the value of life itself. Good Grief is a must-see for anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of mental health and the power of hope in the face of adversity.
